An Offering

As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury.  He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.  "I tell you the truth," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others.  All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.
-Luke 21:1-4 NIV

A man that works in the dump was hit by a bus.  He had to have a leg amputated.  Yesterday morning, the people that live and work in the dump passed the hat and took an offering to help this man, one of their own.

Talk about giving out of one's poverty and all they have to live on.

what a beautiful story but I have to believe that you all being there has set a example for those folks to follow, so I see it as being a learning experience they have had directly from the things you provide to them at the dump. And you guys always give the praise to God. Thanks for sharing. linda
