Oscar

It is very sad when we children working in the dump.  I wish no one had to work in the dump, especially children.  Oscar is an eleven year old little boy.  In order to eat, Oscar and his mother have to work in the dump everyday.  Oscar was hit by one of the tractors in the dump.  His leg and foot was broken.  He is in Hospital Escuela.  Somehow, the pins were found for the leg.  But not the foot.  Oscar was going to lose his foot. Marc bought the pins for the foot.

Four hundred dollars is a lot of money.  But most of us cannot comprehend needing that amount of money to save our child's foot and not being able to come up with it.  In Honduras, $400.00 is more money than people make in a month.  More money that people who earn minimum wage make.  No one who works in the dump makes any where near minimum wage.  To Oscar and his mother, it seemed the only choice was to have the foot amputated.

Marc went to see Oscar today.  He is scared.  Really scared, as any 11-year-old boy would be.  With big tears in his eyes, he asked Marc to pray for him.  Of course, Marc did that.  The surgery is going to hurt.  Let's all pray for Oscar as he faces surgery on his foot and praise God that he will not have to have that foot amputated.

When is the surgery? Is there anything we else we can do to help?
